What are the requirements?
University Shortlisting
Start your journey to study in Germany by shortlisting universities that align with your academic background, language skills (English/German), career goals, budget, and preferred intake. Gather essential documents such as CV, SOP, LORs, and transcripts. Applying early increases your chances of admission and securing a Germany student visa. For guidance, consult experienced student visa consultants who specialize in helping students study abroad in Germany.
APS Certificate or TestAS (For Indian Students Only)
Indian students must obtain the APS certificate or take the TestAS exam as part of their application to study in Germany. APS is a mandatory certification that authenticates your educational background for German student visa approval. TestAS, an aptitude test, may be required by some universities to assess your suitability for specific programs. Ensure you complete this step early to avoid delays in your admission and Germany student visa process.
Receive Your University Admission Offer
Once your application is evaluated, you’ll receive either a conditional or unconditional admission letter from the university. A conditional offer may ask for additional documents, language scores, or final transcripts. Your admission letter (Zulassungsbescheid) is a necessary document for both blocked account setup and German student visa application — critical steps toward studying in Germany.
Blocked Account Opening (Sperrkonto)
To prove your financial readiness, you must open a Blocked Account with at least €11,904 for one year. This amount covers your basic living expenses in Germany and is a mandatory visa requirement. Use trusted providers like Expatrio, Fintiba, or Coracle for a smooth, student-friendly process. You’ll get a confirmation letter that needs to be submitted with your visa application. Many providers also offer insurance + blocked account bundles, saving time and effort.
Travel & Health Insurance
You must have valid travel and health insurance starting from the day you land in Germany. This includes Travel Insurance for the initial days and Public Health Insurance for your stay. German embassies require both types for visa approval, so don’t skip this step. Most students choose bundled packages from trusted providers like Expatrio or DR-Walter. These bundles simplify the process and ensure you're covered from Day 1 in Germany.
CSP Portal Account Creation
Create your account on the Consular Services Portal (CSP) — the official digital platform by the German Embassy/VFS. This portal is used to upload documents, book your visa appointment, and track your application status. It’s a mandatory step for all student visa applicants from India. Ensure that the information entered matches exactly as it appears in your official records.
Visa File Preparation & Submission
Now it’s time to compile your complete student visa file as per embassy guidelines. Your file must include: APS certificate/TestAS, admission letter, blocked account proof, insurance, SOP, visa form, photos, and accommodation proof. Every document must be arranged properly and meet the required format and specifications. Minor errors can cause rejections or delays — so your file must be prepared perfectly. We offer expert file review, personalized checklist, and SOP support to boost your approval chances.
Visa Approval & Passport Collection
Once your visa is approved, you’ll get an email notification from the embassy. Submit your passport for stamping and either collect it or opt for delivery. Visa processing takes 3–6 weeks, depending on intake and workload. We track every update and ensure your passport is submitted smoothly and right on time.

Getting your visa isn’t the end — it’s just the start of your real journey! At Amratpal A Vision, we guide you every step of the way, both before departure and after arrival in Germany.
