A reconsideration or Widerspruch is a formal letter to the admission committee of the German University requesting the unfavorable decision to be reviewed. Rights to appeal
- The rejection letter received contains information on one's right to appeal. Thus, in case one has legitimate justification for the reason of rejection, they have the right to appeal against the decision. The grievant can send appeals in up to a month after granted rejection.
- However, the mere reason that you disagree with the rejection cannot be the reason for appeal. If you fail to provide a substantial basis, there are chances of further rejection.
