How much does a German Student Visa cost?

When should one get Residence Permit?

To stay in Germany besides 90 days as a student, you are required to get a residence permit. However, a residence permit issued to students is valid for a period of two years and needs to be renewed if the duration of the course is over two years.

What are the charges for Residence Permit?

Candidates looking to apply for Residence Permit on arrival in Germany, have to pay €110. It may take an approx time of 8 to 12 weeks to be issued, which translates to roughly three months. Thus, students are usually advised to apply as early as possible.

Which Visa should a student go for?

Depending on the duration and reason for the visit, one must apply for a Schengen Visa or National Visa. The Schengen Visa is valid for the short trip for up to three months for language courses. Further, it cannot be extended. On the other hand, a National Visa is intended for more extended study visits.
