For an international student, it is a requisite language to enter Germany and get access to the whole of Europe which is classified into 4 modules & 6 levels.

Goethe Institute

Levels: A: A1, A2 B: B1, B2 C: C1,C2
Validity: C2 level Goethe Zertifikat is required for entering into German Universities.

Telc

Levels: A: A1, A2 B: B1, B2 C: C1
Validity: C1 level Tecl Certificate is required for entering into German Universities recognizing TELC.

testDAF (The test Deutsch als Fremdsprache)

Levels: TDN 3 TDN 4 TDN 5
Validity: TDN 4 Certificate is required for entering into most German Universities.

DSH (Deutschen Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang)

Levels: DSH 1 DSH 2 DSH 3
Validity: DSH 2 Certificate is required for entering into German Universities.

 

Note:
  • Students in India need to appear for Goethe exam certification initially.
  • testDAF and DSH are advanced-level German certifications.

    After going through the curriculum, it generally takes 10 days prior to examination dates for being thorough and prepared with the exam format.

    Being an Indian student you will be taught according to the Goethe exam pattern.

    Till when are Goethe certificates valid?

    Goethe certificates of level A1-C2 are valid for a lifetime but some institutes consider its validity to be 2 years.
